Philip Richardson, president of production company Current Affairs, is redefining the possibilities of what events can accomplish

Keith Mallini’s fascination with the alluring persona of a restaurateur began as a teenager working at his aunt’s restaurant on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Behind the scenes, he says, the reality was much less glamorous, but when it came time to open, his Aunt Annie would be dressed to the nines and commanding the room as an icon in the community.

In 2004, Kamehameha Schools graduate Keli‘i Gouveia was working with troubled teens at a Marimed Foundation group home when he decided to take a job working security at Tiki’s Grill & Bar, where his twin brother was assistant general manager. Within a year, his side hustle had become a promising career.
